TEGUCIGALPA, July 26 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and more than 15 injured on Sunday in a soccer fan clash outside a stadium in the Honduran capital, police said.
The violence occurred as two rival soccer teams tied 0-0 in a match. Two people were killed before the police moved in to quell the unrest. Dozens were arrested by the police.
It is still unclear whether the violence had links with the country's political stalemate.
Honduras has been on edge since President Manuel Zelaya was ousted and forced into exile in a military coup on June 28.
Zelaya symbolically crossed the border into Honduras on Friday and stayed in the neutral zone for about one hour and a half before stepping back to Nicaragua.
His move, however, was criticized by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as "reckless."
Thousands of Zelaya's supporters have defied a daytime curfew to gather on the frontier to welcome the president. But they were denied access to the border as security checkpoints were set up to impede traffic.
Also on Sunday, the body of one of the supporters of Zelaya was buried on the outskirts of Tegucigalpa. Hundreds of people attended the funeral of the 24-year-old boy.
Identified as Pedro Magdiel Munoz Salvador, the boy was found dead near the site of Friday's pro-Zelaya demonstrations in the town of Paraiso.
There is no official statement from the Honduran side on the cause of the boy's death, but witnesses saw police arresting him after the protest.
Meanwhile, a small bomb exploded outside the headquarters of the National Union of Beverage Workers, where Zelaya's followers just finished a gathering. No casualties were reported immediately.
